What does the Cosmébio label mean?

 

The market of cosmetics nowadays is flooded with so-called natural products, only containing a minute quantity of natural ingredients! 

  • A cosmetic product gets the Cosmébio certification ONLY if it is certified by a certification *agency recognized by the State.

The control of the ingredients, their purity and
their origin :

  • natural raw materials must NOT be contaminated by heavy metals, petrochemicals, pesticides, dioxines, GMO, nitrates, and must be obtained through simple processes.

  • They must be certified Organic when possible and must represent at least 10% of ingredients.

It is forbidden to use :

  • the following synthetic (artificial) products: color, preservative, perfumes, antioxydants, emulsifying agents,
    artificial oils and fats, petrochemicals, silicone based products...

  • animal-derivated products.
 

The control and respect of the rules for protecting the environment:

  • safe disposal of the wastes, prohibited to use harsh detersive for cleaning the production line/production premises, etc...

Tests on animals are forbidden. 

Packaging must be environmental-friendly and recyclable (it is forbidden to use: PVC, polystyrols, multilevel packagings)

The control of the labeling  :

  • the percentages of the ingredients of natural origin and Organic must be indicated clearly.

Therefore it is easy for the customer to judge the quality
and quantities involved in a Cosmebio certified product!
